On Thursday 2nd of Febuary 5th and 6th class went to the Dun Mhuire theatre for the book launch of the 'Spirit of the Titanic'. Many other schools were there too. Every school performed on stage, we sang ' Sailing ' by Rod Stewart.
The author, Nicola Pierce, was also there. She made a small speech about the book. She spoke about how emotional she became when she heard the song ' Nearer my God to Thee'. This was the last song which was played by the band aboard the Titanic before it sank.
The Mayor spoke about how special this book is to the people of Wexford because of its long standing sea faring tradition.
There were people, 'the Titanic Crew', from secondary schools helping out at the event.
We had a terrific day and we can't wait to read the novel.
